| it's a waste of | it uses (something) badly | Watering the lawn every day? It's a waste of water. |
| the recycling bin | the bin for things that can be recycled | Does this go in the recycling bin? |
| an allotment | a small piece of land you rent from the council to grow food (British) | My neighbour has an allotment by the river. |
| pollution | dirty air, water or land | Air pollution is bad in the city centre. |
| public transport | buses and trains that everyone can use | I go everywhere by public transport. |
