Un fin de semana en el campo
A Weekend in the Country
Last weekend I went to the country with my brother Pablo. We wanted to rest and walk in the mountains. We rented a small house near a river. On Friday afternoon we left Madrid. The trip was long, but we were happy.
Al llegar, la casa estaba muy oscura. No había luz y hacía mucho frío.
When we arrived, the house was very dark. There was no electricity and it was very cold. Pablo looked for a lamp, but he didn't find anything. I had to use my phone to see. Then we ate bread with cheese in the kitchen. We went to bed early with two blankets.
On Saturday it rained all day. We couldn't walk in the mountains. Pablo was sad and watched the rain. Then I called the owner of the house. He said, "I'll bring a lamp this afternoon." Finally, at night, we had light and played cards.
On Sunday the sun came out. We walked for an hour along the river. On Monday, Carmen asked me, "How was the weekend?" I answered, "It was a disaster, but it was fun." She laughed and said, "I'm going to go with you next time." I'm going to look for a more comfortable house.
